Tom Hanks-2-1024x767Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was born on July 9, 1956. He is an American actor as well as filmmaker and director. He is famous for his comedic and dramatic role and is regarded as to be an American famous cultural icon. Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was the son of Janet Marylyn, a hospital worker, and Amos Mefford Hanks (an itinerant chef). His mother was originally named "Fraga" and his father was predominantly English. Tom was raised in a family he calls "fractured". He did not have any acting experience in college. This is what helped him begin his acting career. He was an auditioner in the downtown area of Cleveland for a community theater production. Following that the audition, he was invited to Cleveland by the director. This is the point where his acting career started.
